At
the age of 13, I hiked the coast path from Golden
Cap to Ballard Down, taking pictures with a small
automatic camera. That journey took 4 days but has
had a far longer term impact on my life. I live now,
as I did then, in Dorset and spend many hours in the
richly coloured and detailed outdoors.
My
time in Dorset has been interrupted by a 7 year period
in Southampton, studying for a degree in biology then
a doctorate in bumblebee ecology. Although loving
ecological research, I have found the pull of photography
too great to ignore.
I
will be exhibiting twice this year in Dorset, once
during Dorset
Art Weeks (at The Crown Inn, Crown Road, Marnhull,
Dorset DT10 1LN from May 24th to June 8th) and again
at The Exchange
in Sturminster Newton from October 30th to November
27th.
